I love the farmer’s market and family festivals throughout the summer and year round.  Come by the Annual Labor Day Festival in Matthews NC, with huge carnival, three stages of entertainment with national headliners, 160+ arts & crafts vendors, kids’ inflatables, indoor artisan shows, Sponsor/Exhibitor Row, and the Largest Labor Day Parade in the Southeast!

The Matthews Alive Festival is a Labor Day weekend celebration dedicated to the support of local non-profit organizations.

Following the festival, 100% of the proceeds go back to these non-profit organizations, in order that they may provide services to enhance the quality of life in our area. To date, Matthews Alive, Inc. has contributed over $1,300,000 back into our local community!

One of Charlotte’s Most Anticipated Cultural Events, the 38th Annual Greek Festival is fun for all ages. The family friendly weekend features authentic Greek cuisine, homemade pastries, live traditional music and dancing as wells as shopping and cultural exhibits and lectures. The Yiasou Festival has been honored to receive several awards over recent years including:

Festival admission is $3.00

Children 12 and under are admitted free, accompanied by a parent or guardian.

School groups and senior citizen groups can make arrangements for free admission by calling the Cathedral office at (704) 334-4771 between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm weekdays by Thursday, September 1, 2016.

Why

I’ve been going since I was a little kid in the 70’s and I we look forward to it every year. Established in 1964, Festival in the Park has been bringing good music, good art, food and good times to Charlotteans and visitors from around the world. It’s been around for a long time for a reason; everyone loves it!

The Festival is free to attend and features nearly 200 arts and crafts exhibits, five stages with more than 1,000 performers, children’s rides,  and attractions and more.

The Festival is recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast, and one of the nation’s top festivals by Sunshine Artists Magazine. The Festival has also been honored as Best Charlotte Festival by Charlotte Magazine.
